Baryn Futa: Cultivating a Passion for Contemporary Art and Supporting Time-Based Media

Baryn Futa is an arts collector, appreciator, and supporter who took up an interest in the arts after he retired. He wanted to cultivate his interest in the arts and did so by getting involved in the Denver Art Museum. He also attended classes on art history, both online and and in the more traditional settings. Baryn Futa began attending group art trips, as well as visiting art fairs and collecting art himself. He was then able to discover what sort of art he was truly interested in. He found that contemporary art, with an emphasis on time based media, was the field he wanted to support. Today, Baryn Futa is a member of the Collection Committee at the Denver Art Museum. He is also a member of more than a dozen museums, including the Guggenheim and the Metropolitan Museum of Art. Baryn Futa supports dozens of contemporary artists from all over.
